The answer we think despite the many different opinions is YES, poker is gambling!

Obviously there is an element of skill, be it reading opponents, bet sizes etc but you are risking money to win money. Some definitions of gambling are:

To bet on an uncertain outcome, as of a contest.
To play a game of chance for stakes.
To take a risk in the hope of gaining an advantage or a benefit.
